Message from the President of the Republic on National Martyr’s Day

President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune sent a message to the Algerian people on Tuesday on the occasion of National Martyr’s Day, observed on February 18.

In his message, the President stated: “In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and peace and blessings be upon the most honorable of messengers. Fellow citizens, in honor of our righteous martyrs and in reverence for their sacrifices, we commemorate on National Martyr’s Day the memory of the women and men who cherished Algeria with the faith and strength bestowed upon them by God to defeat colonialism and their attachment to honor and freedom. They entrusted the Algerian people with the values of the blessed liberation revolution and the nobility of its goals.”

“On this occasion, we stand with gratitude and pride to express our duty of loyalty and steadfastness on this path. We continue, at this stage, to face challenges to complete the journey we began together since the start of the decade. We take great pride that its foundation was loyalty to the martyrs, its driver was the sincere national spirit, and its goal was the elevation of Algeria.”

“This journey has transitioned the country from conditions where it was on the brink of danger to a climate of confidence and hope in a New Algeria, embraced by the people engaged in the dynamics of sustainable development across the vast regions of the country.”

“By the grace of God, and despite the difficulties of the journey, we have made strides that have turned our precious country into a field of workshops, rich with landmarks of work, construction, and development in all provinces. It has been transformed into a hub of stability that attracts local and foreign investments, as evidenced by the most credible figures and recognized by relevant institutions.”

“It is our conviction that what has been achieved is nothing more than a token of loyalty to the martyrs whose memory we honor on this occasion, and a witness to the constant awareness of the trust of the people, whose hopes and aspirations continue to guide the journey toward the promise of the emerging state.”

“As we celebrate National Martyr’s Day on February 18, we recall the glory of the martyrs whose pure souls constantly hover in the skies of Algeria, pushing our steps forward and inspiring us all with pride and dignity.”

“As I join you in praying for all the honorable and free men and women who resisted through the decades, and the heroic revolutionaries and martyrs of the liberation revolution, I salute the Mujahideen, may God grant them long lives, who continue to sow the seeds of loyalty and blessing on this pure land and offer prayers for the protection of Algeria and its people. Long live Algeria. Glory and eternity to our righteous martyrs.”
