Members of the Territorial Brigade of the National Gendarmerie in Oggaz, under the Territorial Group of the National Gendarmerie in Mascara, have dismantled a criminal network active across several provinces specializing in the theft of livestock and cattle.
According to a statement from the National Gendarmerie, the operation was launched after a local resident was assaulted and robbed of 11 cows and 3 calves of foreign breeds by unidentified masked individuals. Following the incident, the livestock theft response plan established by the group commander was activated.
Modern investigative techniques and intelligence gathering led to the identification of the eight suspects involved in the gang, while three others remain at large.
The suspects were arrested and taken to the brigade headquarters for further investigation. They will be presented before the competent judicial authorities once the investigation is concluded.
