Requirements and Conditions for Obtaining the Electronic Medical Card for the Needy

Abdelhafid Djaghri, Director of Benefits at the National Social Insurance Fund for Salaried Workers, explained that the submission of applications for the electronic card to benefit from medications for the needy takes place at the municipal level of the concerned individuals’ residence. These municipalities then transfer the files to the specialized provincial committee for review and decision-making.

Djaghri stated, following the launch of the electronic card by the Minister of Labor and the Minister of Solidarity for the benefit of the uninsured needy, that the file review process will be immediate and will not require much time.

Djaghri added that 500 applications were received on the first day of the official launch, noting that the pace is expected to accelerate in the coming days.

The official also reassured that full equipment is in place to handle applicants under the best conditions and within a very short period. He emphasized that the medications covered by this card are not limited to chronic diseases but include all medications, numbering more than 5,500.

The provincial committees send the files to the National Social Insurance Fund for Salaried Workers, which provides the beneficiary with a social security registration number. The electronic card is then prepared and sent to the provincial agencies in the beneficiary’s place of residence, which in turn activate and deliver them to the individuals concerned.
