Prime Minister Seifi Gharib chaired a joint ministerial meeting on Thursday dedicated to studying the current state and prospects of Algerian-Nigerien relations, particularly in the fields of energy, infrastructure, industry, health, trade, and training.
A statement from the Prime Ministry indicated that the meeting was held in implementation of the instructions of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune regarding the follow-up on the results of the visit made by General Abdourahamane Tchiani, President of the Republic of Niger and Head of State, to Algeria on February 15 and 16, 2026.
According to the same statement, the meeting also examined ways to implement various joint bilateral projects and cooperation and solidarity activities approved by both sides during this presidential visit.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs; the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines; the Minister of Finance; the Minister of Health; the Minister of Industry; the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies; the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion; the Minister of Post and Telecommunications; the Minister of Vocational Education and Training; and the Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure. Also in attendance were the Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Defense and the Director General of the Algerian Agency for International Cooperation for Solidarity and Development.
