Civil Protection Interventions Following Weather Fluctuations

The General Directorate of Civil Protection has released an update on the general situation and the results of interventions following recent weather fluctuations, as of noon this Tuesday.

According to a statement from the department, the body of a deceased person was found approximately 300 meters along Oued Safa in Relizane Province. The area experienced a rise in water levels, which flooded 50 homes in the Satal neighborhood. In the same province, teams intervened to pump out accumulated rainwater in several neighborhoods, including Bermadia, Chadli, Hamou, El Toub, Dellache, and El Intissar. Additionally, a vehicle trapped by rainwater in the El Ziraia – Qantara El Hamra neighborhood was recovered, with two occupants found in good condition.

In Chlef Province, specifically in the municipality of Boukadir, Civil Protection services rescued two families totaling 10 people who were trapped inside their homes. Rainwater was also pumped out of 11 houses in the Zawiya neighborhood and 10 houses near Oued Boukhandaq in the municipality of Talassa.

In Tiaret Province, services pumped rainwater from three houses in the New Stadium neighborhood, six building entrances in the Mohamed Jehalan neighborhood, and from the front of a residence in the Ibn Badis neighborhood. Interventions also included building entrances in the Lacadat neighborhood and the area surrounding a poultry farm on the Bouchkif road.

In Médéa Province, rainwater was pumped from two houses in the Ain El Kebir and El Hadj Hamdi neighborhoods. Furthermore, an external wall of a house collapsed in the Ferkat El Naayem area, with no casualties reported.
