Zerrouki Sets Date for “Fully Connected Algeria”

The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, held an extensive meeting on Tuesday with representatives of more than 4,800 micro-enterprises and self-employed contractors under contract with Algérie Télécom across 58 provinces. This meeting was part of the follow-up on the strategic “All Fiber” goal.

The Minister issued firm instructions to Algérie Télécom to launch a digital platform as soon as possible, allowing young entrepreneurs to track their projects and issue invoices in real-time. This step aims to overcome administrative and financial obstacles and ensure transparency in transactions, free from bureaucratic hurdles, thereby ensuring the rapid payment of dues to active enterprises.

The Minister emphasized the need to redouble efforts to make Algeria “fully connected” via fiber optics by the beginning of 2027, stressing that the acceleration of work will create thousands of new jobs. He also reassured owners of micro-enterprises that their work would not end once the connection is completed; instead, they will be directed toward maintenance and technical sustainability specializations to ensure network durability and service quality.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Zerrouki stressed the necessity of creating incentive mechanisms for self-employed contractors and micro-enterprises in exchange for strict commitment to quality and excellence standards. He noted that professionalism in execution is the only guarantee for providing a service that meets the expectations of Algérie Télécom customers and keeps pace with the technological development taking place in the country.
