Important Statement from the Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health praised the high commitment of health professionals and all involved partners following the success of the national polio vaccination campaign, which recorded outstanding coverage rates of 95% in the first stage, 96% in the second stage, and 94% in the third stage.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry emphasized that these results reflect an advanced level of community mobilization, considering vaccination a fundamental pillar for protecting public health.

Building on these achievements, the Ministry stressed the need to maintain them by strengthening routine vaccination to ensure sustainable protection for children against preventable diseases, particularly measles, whooping cough, diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis B, and other diseases with serious complications.

The Ministry explained that routine vaccination contributes to ensuring continuous and comprehensive protection for children according to the national vaccination schedule, preventing the re-emergence of vaccine-preventable diseases and their serious complications, maintaining collective immunity, enhancing national health security, and reinforcing the gains achieved through national vaccination campaigns.

The statement also confirmed that, in light of the international context witnessing the return of some diseases, health vigilance remains a collective responsibility requiring concerted efforts and continued commitment.

The Ministry of Health called on parents to adhere to the national vaccination schedule and ensure the completion of their children’s vaccinations by visiting the nearest health facility to catch up on any missing doses.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Health emphasized that protecting children’s health is a shared responsibility, and vaccination remains the most effective means to ensure a safe and sustainable healthy future.
