This week, members of the Mobile Judicial Police Unit of the Aflou District Security in Laghouat arrested two individuals in their thirties for possession of psychotropic substances, treated cannabis, and bottles containing psychotropic liquid intended for sale, as well as Category 6 bladed weapons.
According to a National Security statement, the operation was launched after the unit received information regarding one of the suspects possessing a quantity of psychotropic substances at his home in the city of Aflou for distribution within the urban area.
Following the verification of this information, the individual was arrested and his residence was searched in accordance with legal procedures. The search resulted in the discovery of psychotropic substances, treated cannabis, bottles of psychotropic liquid, and Category 6 bladed weapons.
In the same context, his accomplice was also arrested, and a quantity of psychotropic substances was found inside his residence as well.
After completing the investigation procedures, the suspects were presented before the competent local prosecution for the illegal sale, offering for sale, acquisition, possession, purchase for sale, and storage of drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as carrying Category 6 bladed weapons without legal justification and intentionally promoting psychotropic substances by any means.
