Minister of Justice Lotfi Boudjemaa, accompanied by the Secretary General of the High Commission for Amazighity, Si El-Hachemi Assad, oversaw the opening ceremony of a study day titled “The Tamazight Language in the National Justice System: Towards the Consolidation of Tamazight in Judicial and Professional Practice,” held at the Higher School of Magistracy in Koléa, Tipaza province.
In his speech, the Minister of Justice emphasized that the integration of the Tamazight language into the judicial field is an expression of a sovereign and civilizational choice that strengthens trust between citizens and their institutions, establishing the concept of justice as a public service available in a productive and accessible manner.
He stated that this study day is part of the efforts to consider creating a comprehensive national glossary of legal and judicial terms in the Tamazight language, including all its linguistic variations. This initiative aims to frame values and outline an integrated vision that ensures the effectiveness of the public facility and its accessibility to all users in a manner consistent with national identity.
Minister Boudjemaa added that the design of this glossary works toward consolidating Tamazight in judicial and professional practice as a tool for effective communication and legal protection.
The Minister further noted that the scope of this glossary is not limited to facilitating judicial and professional procedures but also serves as a resource for the scientific and training dimensions of legal professionals, ensuring the protection and promotion of the Tamazight language to guarantee effective and efficient public service.
The Minister of Justice pointed out that this glossary will pave the way for promising prospects in specialized university training for researchers and legal practitioners. The ultimate goal is to achieve the noble purposes of judicial facilities in serving users within a climate of justice among citizens and strengthening their trust in state institutions established to serve them.
