The National Office for Animal Feed and Poultry (ONAB) has announced the gradual supply of frozen chicken to the market at a price of 330 dinars per kilogram. This initiative aims to ensure the availability of poultry during Ramadan and contribute to price stability, supporting citizens’ purchasing power.
In a statement, the institution explained that in preparation for Ramadan, it has secured a significant stock of frozen chicken following directives from the Food and Logistics Industries Group (Agrolog). The market supply has begun with an initial quantity of 2,000 tons, being distributed through various approved channels at the fixed price of 330 dinars per kilogram.
Alongside the sale of frozen chicken, ONAB is also providing fresh chicken daily at its points of sale to ensure a regular supply and meet the needs of citizens throughout the fasting month.
The institution listed its distribution points in Algiers, located in Zeralda, Ain Benian, Hussein Dey, Dar El Beida, Bentalha, Sidi Moussa, Birtouta, Birkhadem, Cheraga, and the new city of Sidi Abdellah.
Its products are also available in Ramadan tents set up by the National Interprofessional Office for Vegetables and Meat (ONILEV) in Ain Benian, El Karia (Cheraga), Said Hamdine (Bir Mourad Rais), Ruisseau, Kittani, Bab Ezzouar, Rouiba, and at the Algerian Company of Fairs and Exports (SAFEX).
The National Office for Animal Feed and Poultry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a regular supply to the national market, supporting citizens’ purchasing power, and contributing to the stability of white meat prices during Ramadan, while providing high-quality products.
