A high-level ministerial delegation inspected, on Friday, the site for shipping the first batches of iron ore via train at Gara Djebilet in Tindouf. The delegation, which included Minister of State, Minister of Energy and Mines Mohamed Arkab, Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport Said Sayoud, Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure Abdelkader Jellaoui, Minister of Tourism Houria Meddahi, and Secretary of State to the Minister of Energy and Mines in charge of Mines Karima Tafer, along with the Director General of National Security Ali Badaoui and the Director General of Civil Protection Boualem Boughlaf, reviewed the conditions for shipping and transporting iron ore to the north for industrial use.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation inspected the Gara Djebilet mine, which is witnessing an intensive pace of work to extract iron ore in preparation for its transport via the new mining railway line.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, this visit is part of assessing the readiness of the Western Mining Line in preparation for starting the transport of iron ore from the Gara Djebilet mine to the north.
