Lucia Witbooi, Special Advisor to the President of the Republic of Namibia and Head of the Oil Upstream Unit, is beginning a working visit to Algeria leading a high-level delegation from the hydrocarbons, energy, and minerals sectors from February 22 to 28, 2026.
This visit comes as part of the continued consultations and coordination between the two countries. The Namibian delegation will hold working meetings with the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, along with technical meetings with officials from sector institutions and bodies to discuss ways to develop cooperation and exchange expertise.
The visit program includes field visits to several energy facilities in Algeria, allowing the Namibian delegation to closely observe various stages of the hydrocarbons value chain, from exploration and production to refining, gas liquefaction, and transport.
The program also includes a visit to the Algerian Petroleum Institute (IAP) to learn about Algeria’s experience in training, capacity building, and technical management.
