Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments Youcef Belmehdi received Mabrouk Zaid el-Kheir, President of the High Islamic Council, at the ministry’s headquarters on Tuesday, according to a statement from the ministry.
The statement explained that this meeting comes within the framework of “strengthening cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments and the High Islamic Council, in a way that serves the national religious reference and enhances joint efforts.”
The talks also addressed “the preparation of a joint action plan covering several areas, particularly regarding fatwas, the development of Islamic culture programs, and the organization of intellectual seminars and forums, contributing to the consolidation of rational religious awareness and keeping pace with society’s concerns.”
