Presidential Decree Issued to Establish National Center for Autism

The Presidential Decree establishing the National Center for Autism, including its mandates, organization, and operations, has been issued, as announced by the Ministry of National Solidarity, Family, and Women’s Issues.

The Ministry explained in a statement that the establishment of this center follows the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who had previously ordered the enhancement of care and support for individuals with autism spectrum disorder.

According to the statement, the center’s responsibilities include developing national programs and curricula for individuals with autism, particularly in the areas of diagnosis, early detection, rehabilitation, and treatment.

The center is also tasked with implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the progress of the National Autism Plan, which was approved by the President on June 1, 2025.

The Ministry further noted that the National Center for Autism will be followed by the creation of specialized local facilities, beginning with four regional centers that will provide care and support for those affected across the country.
