The Presidency of the Republic issued a statement on Wednesday evening regarding the official visit of Pope Leo XIV to Algeria.
Algeria welcomed the content of the statement issued today by the Vatican authorities, which included the announcement of an official visit by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV to Algeria, at the invitation of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The statement noted that this visit will strengthen the bonds of friendship, trust, and understanding between Algeria and the Vatican, and open new horizons for cooperation that reflect their shared belief in the importance of building a world dominated by peace and the values of dialogue and justice, in the face of the various current challenges facing humanity.
Furthermore, the Presidency of the Republic announced that President Tebboune chaired a meeting to evaluate the work of the committee in charge of preparing for the upcoming visit of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV to Algeria.
