Rabehi Initiates Early Preparations for the Summer Season

The Wali of Algiers, Mohamed Abdennour Rabehi, chaired an executive council meeting on Wednesday to discuss several important topics, including the progress of Ramadan operations, environmental cleanliness, and preparations for the summer season.

The meeting began with a review of various Ramadan operations, such as the services of neighborhood markets and the status of Iftar restaurants for those fasting. A total of 330 restaurants were recorded across the province, providing an average of over 100,000 meals daily.

Attendees also discussed the progress of the cleanliness and household waste collection plan, as well as the supply of basic commodities to the market, which has remained stable since the beginning of the holy month.

The meeting further addressed circumcision operations, the Algiers city animation program, and preparations for National Day for People with Special Needs.

The Wali issued several directives, particularly regarding environmental cleaning and household waste collection, emphasizing urgent measures to prevent shortages of material resources in case of equipment failure.

In this context, the Wali of Algiers stressed the need for periodic maintenance of surroundings, especially near mosques and neighborhood markets. He also called for the preparation of cemeteries to receive visitors during Eid al-Fitr, in addition to addressing deficiencies in postal services and automated teller machines (ATMs).

Furthermore, the meeting agenda included monitoring preparations for the 2026 summer season. A comprehensive presentation was given on the number of beaches and necessary facilities, such as hotels, accommodation centers, and forest and recreational spaces.

The meeting also touched upon projects registered as part of the preparations, including beach development operations through the construction of water tanks and pumping stations, the improvement and expansion of roads leading to beaches, and the construction of parking lots.
