Details of Salary Increases for University Professors Revealed

Yesterday evening, the Cabinet approved the fundamental laws and compensation regulations specific to university professors.

According to a statement from the Cabinet, the recommendations of the President focus on revising the law for university professors to align with the New Algeria and the new strategy unfolding in the sector.

In this context, Abdeljabar Daoudi, advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, revealed in a phone call to “Ahead Press” that the most significant aspect of the new fundamental law is the introduction of a new rank, namely the “Distinguished Professor,” granted to professors with 15 years of higher education teaching experience.

Regarding the compensation system, Daoudi clarified that certain allowances have been retained, with an increase in their values from 10,000 dinars to over 54,000 dinars.

The advisor further explained that the salary increases, according to the final version of the compensation system, for professors in higher education at Grade 6 is 40,000 Algerian dinars, Grade 8 sees an increase of 45,000 dinars, Grade 10 amounts to 50,000 dinars, and Grade 12 receives a raise of 55,000 dinars.

As for Assistant Professors at Grade 6, Daoudi noted that the increase is 30,000 dinars.

For Assistant Professors at Grade 6B, the increase is 22,000 dinars.

Regarding Assistant Professors at Grade 6A, the increase is 18,400 dinars.
