In his speech during the Arab Group meeting at the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva last Friday, Mr. Bougali urged for the cessation of the Palestinian bloodshed and pressed for the Zionist entity to comply with international legitimacy decisions. He advocated for allowing unrestricted aid access to the Gaza Strip and for the pursuit of the Zionist entity’s criminals in international judicial bodies. Bougali reaffirmed the Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Highlighting the current situation’s peril, Bougali noted that Arab countries are presently facing existential changes and consequences that necessitate bolstered joint efforts in favor of Arab causes, with the Palestinian issue being of paramount importance. He called for facing these challenges with united and sincere efforts to prevent the Arab world from becoming a victim of others’ calculations.

In this context, the council’s president emphasized that the shared interests of Arab states could only be solidified through the exchange of best practices and experiences. This exchange is crucial for protecting and enhancing ethical and humanitarian values and principles.

On the same occasion, Bougali mentioned that the emergency item listed in the previous General Assembly regarding the Palestinian issue, despite not achieving its desired outcome, does not preclude the continued effort to hold the international community accountable for its historical, moral, and legal responsibilities towards the Palestinian people.
