Algeria and Turkey Forge Historic Strategic Partnership: Tebboune Eyes $10 Billion Trade Target by 2030

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune co-chaired the inaugural session of the Algerian-Turkish High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Ankara on Thursday alongside his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a landmark summit that dzwatch can confirm produced sweeping bilateral agreements.

Speaking exclusively after the session, President Tebboune described the talks with President Erdoğan as “rich and fruitful,” announcing the signing of several major agreements set to transform relations between the two nations.

Tebboune told dzwatch: “I was delighted to review, together with my brother President Erdoğan, key milestones in our bilateral relationship — a relationship of deep historical roots, shared cultural heritage, and growing momentum that calls us to consolidate and build upon.”

The President highlighted the reactivation of the Business Leaders Forum as a cornerstone mechanism for boosting trade and investment flows between Algerian and Turkish economic operators. He also announced the launch of negotiations on a preferential trade agreement covering a defined list of goods, with the ambitious goal of raising bilateral trade and investment to $10 billion by 2030.
