Algeria Boosts Youth Center Salaries by Over 40% in Major Welfare Reform

Algeria is pressing forward with a sweeping overhaul of its youth and leisure center network, raising compensation benchmarks for staff and improving service quality for children and young people across the country.

Youth Minister Mustapha Hidaoui told dzwatch exclusively that this marks the second consecutive season of structured salary revisions, with increases ranging between 10% and 25% depending on job category — a move aligned with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s comprehensive national vision for youth development.

Looking ahead to 2026, reference salary values are set to rise again by between 10% and 20%, tailored to the nature of each position. When cumulative increases for both 2025 and 2026 are factored in, some roles will have seen total salary growth exceeding 40%.

The Ministry confirmed that these reforms reflect an unwavering commitment to supporting Algeria’s youth sector workforce, enhancing working conditions, and delivering higher-quality services to the nation’s younger generations.
