A central highlight of the visit was the joint inauguration of a newly constructed 40-megawatt power plant, a major infrastructural project completed in record-breaking time. The foundation stone for the facility was laid on March 24 during the second session of the Algerian-Niger Grand Joint Commission, making the speedy delivery of the plant a testament to Algeria's active commitment to supporting its southern neighbor.
Prime Minister Gharib conveyed the warm greetings of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, emphasizing Algiers' dedication to fostering high-level dialogue and robust bilateral dynamics. The ongoing cooperation spans critical sectors including energy, hydrocarbons, infrastructure development, healthcare, higher education, digital transition, and transport.
President Tchiani expressed deep gratitude for Algeria’s solidarity and swift execution of development projects, noting that the 40 MW power station stands as a prime example of effective South-South cooperation. The two leaders also discussed accelerating joint regional strategic projects to foster economic integration across the Sahel.
On the security front, both parties emphasized the necessity of continuous coordination and consultation to address regional challenges, thereby bolstering stability and peace across the Sahel strip. This visit underscores a new chapter of Algerian-Niger relations built on reciprocal solidarity, shared development, and robust economic integration.
