Algerian Interior Minister Honored Under “Nazaha” Initiative

The President of the High Authority for Transparency, Prevention and Fight against Corruption, Salima Messrati, honored Algeria’s Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Saïd Sayoud, as part of the “Nazaha” initiative.
According to a statement from the ministry, the distinction was awarded in recognition of the efforts made by the sector to promote the principles of transparency, integrity and good governance.
The ministry explained that this honor reflects the best practices and initiatives carried out by its institutions and bodies in the field of compliance and corruption prevention. Particular attention was given to the role of the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of Civil Protection, which have worked to strengthen compliance mechanisms and support preventive measures against corruption.
The ceremony took place during Minister Sayoud’s participation on Saturday in a study day organized to mark African Anti-Corruption Day. The event was held under the high patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and was organized by the High Authority for Transparency, Prevention and Fight against Corruption, in coordination with the Algerian Economic Renewal Council and the National Union of Public Contractors.
The meeting was hosted at the Abdellatif Rahal International Conference Center in Algiers, bringing together members of the government, heads of national institutions and bodies, economic actors and experts.
This year’s event was held under the theme: “Integrity Index: From assessing anti-corruption efforts in the public administrative sector to establishing compliance rules in the economic sector.”
The initiative highlights Algeria’s growing focus on strengthening integrity in both public administration and the economic sector. It also reflects the importance of building stronger systems of governance, improving institutional performance and encouraging a culture of transparency in public and economic life.
African Anti-Corruption Day is observed every year on July 11 and serves as a platform to promote integrity and anti-corruption action across the continent.
