Oran – Participants in the National Sessions for Youth Leaders, which concluded today, Monday, in Oran, emphasized the need to promote and expand the activities of youth institutions to achieve diversity and excellence.

In the final statement of these sessions, held over two days under the theme “Youth and Sports Sector: Achievements and Challenges,” participants stressed the importance of “working on and promoting the activities of youth institutions, disseminating and expanding their practice through a comprehensive guide to achieve diversity and excellence in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, languages, and all matters relevant to today’s and the near future’s youth.”

The statement also called for “continuing to improve the image of youth institutions, addressing their concerns, and enhancing the spaces where this segment of society is present by providing them with social and educational equipment that aligns with the agreed-upon pedagogical activities guide.”

Additionally, they recommended “strengthening community engagement by involving youth associations, encouraging exchange and tourism activities across the country, and enhancing programs aimed at promoting civic sense and true citizenship among youth,” along with “improving reception conditions and care in youth holiday and leisure centers by reviewing and modernizing the legal and legislative texts to align with the reality of youth.”

The recommendations also included “updating training techniques and educational social activity methods to match the sector’s evolving needs for effective support and mobilization” and “integrating education, training, prevention, and social ill combat programs through the creation of a joint sectoral coordination framework at the grassroots level, with a proposal to establish a local community mobilization commissioner for children and youth.”

In this context, there was also a call to “work on establishing a legal framework for youth activities by issuing a law regulating youth activities, similar to the existing regulations in sports.”

Participants further emphasized “the necessity of following up on the efforts and maintaining continuity in work and ensuring the implementation of the outcomes of these national sessions by adopting a national advisory committee to monitor their implementation.”

It is noteworthy that these national sessions, which were inaugurated yesterday, Sunday, by Minister of Youth and Sports Abdelrahman Hammad, saw the participation of sector officials at both national and local levels, including directors of youth and sports from all 58 provinces, as well as representatives from youth institutions and associations, led by the Supreme Youth Council.

Participants enriched seven workshops: “Enhancing the role of listening and support cells,” “A new vision for social, educational, and recreational activity programs and methods,” “Media and communication among youth,” “Updating the pedagogical activities guide for youth,” “Improving the performance and management of youth hostels and reception structures,” “The legal framework and financial management of youth institutions,” and “The training system for educational leaders and level improvement.”
