Weather Alert: Thunderstorms and Heatwave Continue Across Several Algerian Regions

Algeria’s National Meteorological Office has issued a weather alert on Tuesday, warning of thunderstorms and the استمرار of an intense heatwave affecting multiple provinces across the country.

According to the yellow-level (Level 1) alert, thunderstorms are expected in several regions, including Souk Ahras, Tebessa, Khenchela, Oum El Bouaghi, Batna, M’sila, Djelfa, Laghouat, In Salah, Adrar, Tamanrasset, In Guezzam, and Bordj Badji Mokhtar.

The same source also indicated that the ongoing heatwave will persist in a number of northern and southern provinces. These include El Tarf, Annaba, Skikda, Jijel, Bejaia, Guelma, Constantine, Biskra, El M’Ghair, El Oued, and Tindouf, where temperatures are expected to remain exceptionally high.

In addition, the meteorological services warned of sandstorms in the southern provinces of Bordj Badji Mokhtar and In Guezzam, which could reduce visibility and disrupt daily activities.

Authorities are urging residents in the affected areas to take necessary precautions, particularly in light of the combined risks of extreme heat, heavy rainfall, and reduced visibility due to sandstorms.
