El Djeich Magazine Highlights National Unity and Algeria’s Commitment to Sovereignty

The latest editorial of Algeria’s El Djeich magazine has highlighted the strong national solidarity demonstrated during the recent forest fires, saying the crisis once again showed that difficult times strengthen unity among Algerians.
Published on Saturday, the editorial praised the joint efforts of the People’s National Army, Civil Protection, forestry services, other state institutions, and citizens in responding to the fires. It described defending Algeria as a shared national responsibility rooted in collective awareness and a deep sense of duty.
The magazine linked these values to the spirit of Algeria’s liberation struggle, during which Algerians united around the goal of achieving independence from French colonial rule.
The editorial also marked the fifth anniversary of National People’s Army Day, celebrated on August 4. Established by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the occasion recognizes the military institution’s role in defending national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
According to El Djeich, Algeria faces an increasingly complex regional and international environment, but its security and stability remain supported by an aware population, strong institutions, and a capable military.
The editorial also emphasized the country’s development efforts, including investment, infrastructure expansion, and economic and social development, saying Algeria is working not only to protect its present but also to build its future.
Referring to President Tebboune’s recent statements, the magazine reiterated Algeria’s determination to preserve its sovereignty and independent decision-making, stressing that national stability remains a fundamental priority.
The editorial further praised the People’s National Army’s role in securing Algeria’s borders and combating terrorism and organized crime, while continuously improving its operational, defensive, and technological capabilities.
It concluded by paying tribute to members of the armed forces and honoring the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for Algeria, emphasizing that preserving the country’s security, sovereignty, unity, and stability remains a responsibility shared by the entire nation.
