Algiers to Host 9th International Cultural Festival ‘Summer in Music’

Algiers is set to host the 9th International Cultural Festival 'Summer in Music' from August 15 to 21, under the theme "Melodies of the world… spirit of Algeria." Organized by the National Office of Culture and Information (ONCI), the festival will unfold at the Promenade des Sablettes. This marks the first time the event will be freely accessible to the public, aiming to provide an inclusive platform for cultural exchange and festivity, featuring a varied program with numerous Algerian and international musical groups and artists.

The festival operates under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Arts, in collaboration with the Wilaya of Algiers. According to a communiqué from the ONCI, this initiative embodies a clear vision that positions culture as a cornerstone for social cohesion and enhances the capital's appeal as a tourist destination, reflecting a commitment to cultural development and public engagement.

In a forward-looking move, the festival will also include an innovative master-class titled "Music and Artificial Intelligence," held at the Artists' Village. This training initiative aims to prepare young participants to navigate technological advancements pertinent to contemporary musical creation, fostering innovation within the arts. The event benefits from official partnerships with the National Office of Copyright and Related Rights (ONDA) and the Directorate of Youth, Sports, and Leisure, which will contribute through leisure activities designed for families and young people.
