Pharmaceutical Raw Material Project Nears $1 Billion Target

The Saidal Group's strategic project for pharmaceutical raw material production is projected to elevate the group's revenue to nearly $1 billion upon its operational launch. This significant industrial initiative, located in Harbil municipality, Medea province, recently saw a working visit by Saidal General Manager Younes Bouarara on August 24 to monitor construction progress.

The project is deemed crucial for enhancing national pharmaceutical sovereignty and aims to substantially reduce the country's pharmaceutical import bill, particularly for antibiotics. Algeria currently imports antibiotics valued at 75.4 billion Algerian dinars annually, underscoring the strategic importance of local production capabilities.

This new unit is expected to boost national production capacities for antibiotics and their associated raw materials. The project aligns with Saidal Group's broader strategy to develop its production capabilities and progressively strengthen its presence in international markets, contributing to the nation's economic diversification and self-sufficiency.
