Attaf Discusses Palestinian Developments with Counterpart

Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf held bilateral discussions with his Palestinian counterpart, Farasen Aghabekian Shaheen, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Discussions focused on recent developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in light of escalating Israeli violations and ongoing efforts to undermine the Palestinian national project.

During their talks, the two ministers reviewed concerted efforts aimed at halting these violations, ensuring necessary protection for the Palestinian people, and exploring avenues to support their legitimate national rights. Minister Attaf reaffirmed Algeria's steadfast and firm stance in supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause, underscoring their legitimate and inalienable right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with resolutions of international legitimacy.

The Palestinian Foreign Minister, in turn, expressed profound appreciation for Algeria. She highly valued Algeria's consistently supportive positions and its enduring solidarity with the Palestinian people's just cause, highlighting the significant role Algeria plays in advocating for their national aspirations.
