118 Wildfires Extinguished Across Algerian Provinces

Algerian Civil Protection units have achieved a significant breakthrough in managing recent wildfires, confirming that the situation nationwide is now stable. Official reports indicate that 118 out of 123 wildfires recorded across various provinces have been extinguished. This success reflects the concerted efforts of emergency services over the past 24 hours, as of 7:00 a.m. Saturday, in containing the widespread blazes.

Lieutenant Colonel Nassim Bernaoui, Deputy Director of Information and Awareness at the General Directorate of Civil Protection, affirmed the stability of the wildfire situation across the country. He specifically highlighted that major fires, including those in the province of Jijel, have been definitively put out. This comprehensive control effort addresses the incidents that occurred between August 28 and 29.

The rapid response and effective strategies employed by the Civil Protection units have been pivotal in stabilizing the national situation. With the vast majority of wildfires now doused, the focus shifts to maintaining vigilance and supporting the affected areas, underscoring the resilience and preparedness of the national emergency services.
