Minister Attaf Arrives in Accra for the 45th Executive Council Session of the African Union

Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, arrived this afternoon in Accra, the capital of the sister Republic of Ghana, on behalf of the President of the Republic, to participate in the 45th Executive Council session of the African Union, scheduled for July 18-19.

A statement from the ministry clarified that this ministerial meeting will be followed by the sixth coordination summit between the African Union and regional economic communities and mechanisms, scheduled for July 21.

The agenda of the ministerial session will focus on discussing several financial and administrative issues related to the internal management of the African Union, in addition to matters related to the partnerships the continental organization has established with various international actors, as well as its membership in the G20.

Moreover, the statement added that the session will continue to activate the mechanisms of joint African action and prepare for upcoming entitlements on both the continental and international levels.

On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, Minister Ahmed Attaf is expected to hold bilateral meetings with many of his African counterparts.
