The Algerian government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Nadhir Larbaoui, reviewed several important projects and presentations related to finance, agriculture, and public works during its meeting on Wednesday. According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, the meeting focused on the following:

Prime Minister Nadhir Larbaoui chaired the government meeting on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, which was dedicated to studying a preliminary draft law on the settlement of the budget for the past year. This initiative is part of implementing constitutional provisions related to parliamentary oversight of the government, serving as one of the legal tools that promote budgetary transparency and contribute to the governance of public finances.

In the same context, the government completed the review of an executive decree project that specifies the deadlines for expenditure payments, the methods of revenue collection, and the conditions for accepting zero-value items. This is in application of Law No. 23-07 related to public accounting rules and financial management.

The government also listened to a presentation on the progress of the 2024 General Agriculture Census and ways to ensure the optimal use of the statistical data generated by this process. This is particularly important for shaping public policy in this crucial sector, in line with the directives of the President of the Republic, especially regarding achieving food security and contributing to the diversification of the national economy.

Furthermore, the government received an update on the progress of the rehabilitation works of the Harrach River. This project is expected to make a significant contribution to the environmental and urban redevelopment of Algiers, creating spaces for recreation and entertainment.
