Minister Sayoud Presides Over 1,580 Police Cadets’ Graduation

The Minister of Interior, Local Collectivities and Urban Planning, Saïd Sayoud, recently presided over the graduation ceremony of the 63rd unified promotion of police agents. Held at the National Security Application School "Abdelmadjid Bouzbid" in Soumaa, Blida, the event saw 1,580 new police officers join the ranks of Algeria's national security forces. The new cohort was named after the martyr of national duty, police brigadier Kerlifa Benaïcha, in a ceremony also attended by the Director General of National Security, Ali Badaoui, along with government members and national institution representatives.

The 1,580 graduates completed a rigorous 12-month theoretical and practical training program, which was preceded by intensive physical and psychological preparation. These officers, including 1,138 from the Soumaa school, 344 from the M'sila annex, and 98 from the Beni Mered training center, received comprehensive instruction in police knowledge and legal subjects. Their practical training involved simulating professional situations within an urban security school-city and a simulation city, complemented by practical internships across various operational services such as wilaya security directorates, republican security units, and border police services, all supervised by experienced trainers.

Police Controller Mustapha Ghrissi, director of the Soumaa school, highlighted that the graduating agents were assessed on their acquired skills and subsequently assigned to various specialties. These include maintaining order, judicial policing, general intelligence, border policing, and general policing, aligning their qualifications with specific operational needs. He further emphasized the ongoing commitment of National Security training establishments to evolve the police training system, integrating a competence-based approach into programs and methods to keep pace with global developments in law enforcement.
