ENCC, Ferrovial Sign Pact for Local Phosphate Wagon Production

The Entreprise nationale de charpente et chaudronnerie (ENCC SPA) and Ferrovial Group have entered into a strategic framework agreement, establishing an industrial cooperation focused on revolutionizing mineral railway transport in Algeria. This significant partnership prioritizes the local manufacturing of wagons for phosphate transport, aiming to strengthen the national railway sector and enhance the country's industrial capabilities. The agreement was signed by Abdelhalim Arrouche, CEO of ENCC, and Mounir Abbassi, General Director of Ferrovial, with Saïd Aaabat also present.

A core objective of this strategic collaboration is to achieve a national integration rate exceeding 70% in the production of specialized railway equipment. This initiative is designed to reduce Algeria's reliance on imported railway components, thereby bolstering the nation's industrial sovereignty. By developing a domestic manufacturing pipeline for these wagons, the agreement actively promotes the national product and supports key structuring projects within the mining and railway transport sectors.

Beyond local production, the agreement is set to generate substantial added value for the national economy. It fosters the development of local technical skills and expertise, stimulating innovation across the supply chain. Furthermore, this project is anticipated to create numerous qualified employment opportunities, reinforcing the local economic fabric and establishing a robust and sustainable industrial sector for specialized railway transport.
