Euro Falls to New Low Against Dinar Since August
The Algerian dinar has continued its progression against the euro on the official exchange market, according to the latest quotations from the Bank of Algeria. On September 23, the euro was fixed at 152.71 dinars for sale and 152.61 dinars for purchase. This current level represents the euro's lowest point against the Algerian currency observed since August 20, marking a consistent strengthening trend for the national currency.
This recent movement signifies an accelerated decline for the euro. In a single day, from September 22 to September 23, the official rate decreased by 0.52 dinars for sale and 0.58 dinars for purchase. On September 22, the euro was still quoted at 153.23 dinars for sale and 153.19 dinars for purchase, highlighting the swift nature of its recent depreciation against the dinar.
The euro's value has consistently fallen below the 153 dinar threshold, following several days of consecutive declines. Prior to this, the euro was at 154.19 dinars for sale on September 17, subsequently moving to 153.53 dinars on September 18, 153.32 dinars on September 21, and 153.23 dinars on September 22. This trajectory contrasts significantly with late August figures, where the euro reached 155.18 dinars for sale on August 24 and maintained a level of 155.10 dinars on August 26.
Over the observed period since its peak in late August, the official exchange rate of the European currency has decreased by a total of 2.47 dinars for sale. This sustained reduction reflects the Algerian dinar's notable advance on the official market, demonstrating a positive indicator for the national economy.
