Algiers 3 University Introduces Amazigh Language Master’s Program

The University of Algiers 3 recently inaugurated a new Master's program in Information Sciences in the Amazigh language, a significant academic development for the Faculty of Information and Communication Sciences. This initiative was overseen by Minister of Communication Mohamed Bouslimani and developed in partnership with the High Commission for Amazighity (HCA).

During the launch, attended by Adviser to the President, Nasreddine Bentifour, Minister Bouslimani underscored that this new academic specialty in Tamazight directly aligns with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's consistent vision for consolidating and promoting the language across various sectors, including information and communication. The Minister also affirmed the Communication Ministry's readiness to support students by offering practical internships at key institutions such as Algérie Presse Service, public television, national radio, and the International Press Centre.

Si El Hachemi Assad, Secretary-General of the HCA, characterized the integration of this curriculum as a new achievement and a strategic step towards incorporating Tamazight into specialized training and professional practice. He noted that this effort reinforces the foundations of national identity by expanding the role of the Amazigh language within higher education and scientific research. University of Algiers 3 Rector Khaled Rouaski added that this media training in Amazigh aims to strengthen national media with qualified professionals capable of producing high-level media discourse.
