In the first week of the electoral campaign for the upcoming presidential elections on September 7, candidates and their representatives have been actively traveling across Algeria to connect with voters. They are focused on explaining the key points of their programs and presenting solutions they believe are best suited to address the nation’s pressing issues.

In this context, Abdelkrim Ben Mebarek, Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front (FLN), held a rally in the province of Tébessa in support of the independent candidate, Abdelmadjid Tebboune. He emphasized that Tebboune’s developmental program is “ambitious, covering various sectors and addressing all segments of society,” and urged popular support for his candidacy.

Ben Mebarek stated that if elected for a second term, Abdelmadjid Tebboune will continue to “raise wages, improve citizens’ purchasing power, and enhance living conditions,” in addition to “promoting economic growth, encouraging investment, and advancing the country in all fields.”

In Bouira, Mustapha Yahia, Secretary-General of the National Democratic Rally (RND), explained that his party’s support for the independent candidate Abdelmadjid Tebboune is “not arbitrary” but driven by Algeria’s best interests, aiming to enable him to continue his achievements.

Yahia noted that Tebboune “has accomplished much despite the challenges and obstacles during his first term and is determined to achieve even more for the country.” He emphasized that Tebboune is “fighting against internal and external lobbies that threaten national stability,” and it is crucial to support him to protect Algeria from these threats.

Similarly, Tahar Benbaibech, leader of the New Dawn Party (El-Fajr El-Jadid), during a rally in Jijel, highlighted that a strong vote for the independent candidate, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, would “defend Algeria against both internal and external adversaries.”

Benbaibech listed the achievements of Tebboune’s first presidential term, pointing out that renewing trust in him would “maintain stability and continue building the state through completing major ongoing projects.”

In the same vein, Abdelkader Bengrina, leader of the National Construction Movement (El-Binaa), from Timimoun, stated that his political formation chose to support the independent candidate, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, based on their political convictions and the successes achieved through his prudent policies.

Meanwhile, Abdelali Hassani Cherif, candidate of the Movement of Society for Peace (MSP), during an appearance at the “El-Moudjahid” daily forum, described the upcoming presidential elections as a “crucial national event” and called for strengthening “national cohesion.”

He urged for reinforcing “national unity by rallying the people around the incoming president,” adding that strong participation in the presidential elections would “affirm the democracy and pluralism that Algeria enjoys.”

Presenting his electoral program under the slogan “Opportunity,” the MSP candidate advocated for establishing a free, inclusive economy through equitable wealth distribution and addressing youth issues. He believes that his program would boost GDP, increase per capita income, and reduce unemployment rates. His vision for the next phase includes a new administrative division, starting with amending the law on provinces and municipalities, expanding the powers of elected officials, and increasing the number of provinces.

On the social front, the MSP candidate explained that his party’s program is focused on “caring for all social groups and revising the fundamental laws of various labor sectors.” It also includes improving the quality of education, health, and training, positioning Algeria as a regional and international rising power.

Moreover, Hassani Cherif indicated that his program advocates for establishing a “parliamentary system that balances powers and strengthens oversight over the executive branch.”

On international issues, the MSP candidate reiterated his commitment to continuing support for the Palestinian and Sahrawi causes.

Discussing the electoral campaign, Hassani Cherif noted that it is experiencing “broad popular engagement and a growing trend of citizen participation.”

It is worth mentioning that the candidate from the Socialist Forces Front (FFS), Youcef Aouchiche, did not schedule any field activities for the day.
