AFCON Qualifiers: Big Win for Algeria Against Liberia (3-0)

Monrovia – The Algerian national football team secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Liberia in the second round of Group E qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, played on Tuesday at Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Monrovia.

Algeria’s goals came from Amine Gouiri (17′), Adem Zorgane (25′), and Baghdad Bounedjah (80′).

In the same group, Equatorial Guinea drew 2-2 with Togo on Monday in Malabo.

Following this round, Algeria tops the group standings with 6 points, followed by Togo in second place with 2 points, while Equatorial Guinea and Liberia share third place with 1 point each.

The third and fourth rounds are set to take place between October 7 and 15, featuring Algeria vs. Togo and Equatorial Guinea vs. Liberia, followed by Togo vs. Algeria and Liberia vs. Equatorial Guinea.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the final tournament, except for the host nation’s group, where only one team will qualify to join the host for the tournament, scheduled from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
