Algiers – The General Directorate of National Security has developed a preventive security plan to ensure the appropriate conditions for the 2024-2025 school year across its areas of jurisdiction, in coordination with the relevant authorities, according to a statement released by the National Security Services on Saturday.
The statement noted that operational units are working through this plan to ensure smooth traffic flow on main and secondary roads, especially during peak hours, with a focus on routes leading to educational institutions.
In this context, drivers are urged to avoid random parking and stopping near schools and training centers to prevent traffic congestion and ensure student safety.
Additionally, starting Sunday, the General Directorate of National Security will launch a national traffic safety campaign in collaboration with the National Gendarmerie. The campaign, under the slogan “Together for a School Year Without Traffic Accidents,” will feature awareness activities for drivers, offering advice on adhering to traffic laws, driving responsibly, avoiding excessive speed, and preventing dangerous overtaking.
The Directorate also reminds citizens that the emergency numbers 1548 and 17, as well as the digital platforms of the Algerian police, remain available 24/7 for public assistance.
