Algiers – Saïd Arous, Head of the Presidential Third Parliamentary Group and a member of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, is participating in the 37th Emergency Conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva. Arous is representing Salah Goudjil, President of the Algerian Council of the Nation, alongside Lazreg Bataher, Head of the Independent Parliamentary Group, according to a statement released by the Council of the Nation on Sunday.
This emergency conference is taking place concurrently with the 149th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which is being held in Geneva from October 13 to 17.
The focus of the conference, called by Ibrahim Boughali, President of the People’s National Assembly of Algeria and the current President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, is to discuss “solutions to halt the brutal aggression by the Zionist occupation forces on Gaza, the occupied Palestinian territories, and the Republic of Lebanon,” the statement said.
