Ramallah – Ahmad Majdalani, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Secretary-General of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front, has condemned the massacre committed by Israeli forces on Monday. The attack targeted displaced people’s tents at the “Al-Aqsa Martyrs” Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, and is being labeled as an act of genocide against the Palestinian people. Majdalani stressed that any nation supplying Israel with weapons is complicit in this genocide.
Majdalani highlighted that these crimes put the global community to a real test of its commitment to human rights and international law, both of which are being flagrantly violated by what he called Israel’s “fascist state,” which is using internationally banned weapons.
He underscored that the international community’s silence, along with its failure to confront these atrocities, implicates those who provide Israel with military, political, and diplomatic support in the genocide being perpetrated against the Palestinian population.
He further emphasized that Israel is using Gaza’s displaced camps as testing grounds for its advanced weaponry, much of which is supplied by Western nations, particularly the United States.
Majdalani also called for urgent Palestinian national unity and overcoming internal divisions to effectively confront the ongoing aggression.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has launched a devastating assault on Gaza, resulting in 42,289 Palestinian deaths and 98,684 injuries. The humanitarian crisis has forced over 85% of Gaza’s population—around 1.9 million people—to flee their homes, marking an unprecedented catastrophe.
