Algiers – General Saïd Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the Algerian National People’s Army, commenced an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. This visit is at the invitation of Lieutenant General Mokhtar Bela Chaaban, Chief of the General Staff of the Mauritanian Armed Forces, according to a statement from the Algerian Ministry of National Defense.
The statement noted that, “at the invitation of Lieutenant General Mokhtar Bela Chaaban, Chief of the General Staff of the Mauritanian Armed Forces, General Saïd Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the Algerian National People’s Army, has started an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania as of today, October 15, 2024.”
During this visit, which aims to “strengthen cooperation between the Algerian National People’s Army and the Mauritanian Armed Forces,” the two sides will discuss issues of mutual interest, as confirmed by the same source.
