On Tuesday, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune enacted a partial reshuffle among Algeria’s governors and deputy governors, in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution. This restructuring involved the dismissal, transfer, and appointment of various officials across multiple provinces.
The official statement from the Presidency confirmed the termination of several governors’ duties, including the following:
- Issa Aissat, Governor of Oum El Bouaghi
- Ammar Ali Ben Saad, Governor of Djelfa
- Houria Meddahi, Governor of Skikda (to be reassigned to other responsibilities)
- Farid Mohamedi, Governor of Mascara
- Youssef Mahyout, Governor of Khenchela
- Mostafa Aghamir, Governor of Bordj Badji Mokhtar
The reshuffle also included several governor transfers, as follows:
- Ali Bouguera from Tiaret to Adrar
- Benabdallah Chaib Dour from Djanet to Oum El Bouaghi
- Ahmed Belhaddad from Illizi to Tébessa
- Said Khalil from Tébessa to Tiaret
- Aboubakr Seddik Bousta from Tipaza to Tizi Ouzou
- Jehid Mous from Médéa to Djelfa
- Said Akhrouf from El Oued to Skikda
- Djillali Doumi from Tizi Ouzou to Médéa
- Larbi Behloul from Adrar to El Oued
- Mohamed Momen from Ain Témouchent to Djanet
In addition, the following appointments were announced:
- Fouad Aissi as Governor of Mascara
- Ahsan Khalidi as Governor of Illizi
- Slim Harizi as Governor of Khenchela
- Ali Moulay as Governor of Tipaza
- Mabrouk Ould Abdennabi as Governor of Ain Témouchent
- Mahfoud Benfleis as Governor of Bordj Badji Mokhtar
For deputy governors, certain terminations were issued, including:
- Wassila Bouchechi, Deputy Governor of the administrative district of Draa Erich, Annaba
- Abderrahmane Rahmani, Deputy Governor of the administrative district of Bir Mourad Rais, Algiers (to be reassigned)
Additionally, Khadija Saifi, Deputy Governor of the administrative district of Ali Mendjeli in Constantine, has been reassigned to the district of Zeralda in Algiers.
New appointments among deputy governors include:
- Sadiq Hajar for Bir Mourad Rais, Algiers
- Bouzid Nour Sadat for Draa Erich, Annaba
- Amro Mechiche for Ali Mendjeli, Constantine
