Algeria Claims Gold in African Military Games with 1-0 Victory Over Cameroon

Abuja – The Algerian military football team secured the gold medal at the African Military Games after defeating Cameroon 1-0 in the final match held on Saturday in Abuja, Nigeria. The host city is organizing this major sporting event, which continues until November 30, as announced by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF).

The decisive goal for Algeria came late in the match, with player Marouane Ben Zaid scoring in the 119th minute during extra time, ensuring the national team’s triumph in this highly anticipated final.

Algeria reached the final after a solid 2-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea in the semi-finals.

The African Military Games serve as an important platform for showcasing athletic excellence under the theme “Enhancing Military Cooperation Through Sports.” This second edition of the games has brought together elite military athletes from 25 African countries, competing in 19 different sports disciplines to demonstrate their skills, endurance, and team spirit.
