South African President Cyril Ramaphosa paid homage to the heroes of Algeria’s liberation struggle by placing a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Algiers. The solemn ceremony took place on Friday morning, highlighting the enduring solidarity between Algeria and South Africa.
President Ramaphosa observed a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Algeria’s independence.
Following the tribute, he toured the National Museum of the Mujahid, where he received detailed explanations about Algeria’s rich history of resistance and heroic battles for freedom.
The South African leader arrived in Algeria on Thursday evening for a state visit at the invitation of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
