General Saïd Chengriha, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), chaired the annual meeting of the Directorate of Military Health Services today. The event took place at the National School of Military Health in the First Military Region, according to a statement by the Ministry of National Defense.

The statement detailed the proceedings:

At the outset, General Chengriha was welcomed by the Commander of the First Military Region and the Central Director of Military Health Services. He then reviewed a presentation by the Central Director, which highlighted the progress of the Directorate’s development plan, including an overview of activities within the 2023-2024 framework and future projects across ANP healthcare structures.

Addressing the audience, which included officials and personnel connected via teleconference from all six military regions, General Chengriha emphasized the critical role of the military health sector. He stressed its dual mission of ensuring high-quality medical care for military personnel and contributing to civilian healthcare, particularly in remote border areas of southern Algeria.

Expressing his satisfaction with the meeting, General Chengriha said:

“This annual gathering aims to assess the execution of the 2024 action plan and comprehensively evaluate the current medical services provided to our personnel and their families. The military health sector is an integral component of our operational readiness, enhancing our forces’ preparedness to fulfill their duties under any circumstances.”

The General reiterated the importance of delivering superior healthcare to military personnel across all regions and extending services to civilians in underserved areas. These efforts, he noted, are essential to achieving health security for both the armed forces and the nation.

During the session, General Chengriha engaged with military health officials, offering directives focused on improving performance and adopting advanced practices to elevate healthcare quality.

Following the meeting, the General visited the Central Army Hospital, inaugurating its newly established logistics hub. He toured the hospital’s facilities, receiving detailed briefings on its infrastructure and operations, which are designed to meet the needs of the hospital staff and provide excellent medical services.

The General emphasized the importance of maintaining and optimizing the hospital’s capabilities to ensure it fulfills its intended role. He noted that this would significantly enhance the overall performance of the Central Army Hospital, cementing its status as a critical asset in the nation’s healthcare landscape.
