Algiers – Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, was received on Friday in Kampala by the President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni. The meeting occurred during an official visit by Mr. Attaf, acting as a special envoy of the President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, according to a statement from the ministry.
On this occasion, “the Minister of State delivered a written message from President Tebboune to the Ugandan leader, along with conveying his brotherly greetings and reaffirming his aspiration to continue joint efforts aimed at elevating Algerian-Ugandan relations to their highest potential,” the statement highlighted.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the positive outcomes achieved in implementing the decisions made by both leaders during President Museveni’s state visit to Algeria in March 2023.
The discussions also delved into significant issues on the African Union’s agenda, as well as pressing regional and international topics, including developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, the broader Middle East, and the ongoing decolonization process in Western Sahara.
