CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage Round 5 (Group A): CS Constantine vs CS Sfaxien (3-0): Coaches’ Statements

Constantine – The coaches’ post-match reactions were gathered following CS Constantine’s dominant 3-0 victory over Tunisian side CS Sfaxien on Sunday evening at the Chahid Hamlaoui Stadium during the fifth round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage (Group A).

Kheireddine Madoui – Head Coach of CS Constantine:

“I congratulate the entire CS Constantine family, from management to players and supporters, on this qualification to the quarter-finals. We have proven, with strength and merit, that we deserve to be at the top of our group, contrary to the expectations and predictions that labeled us as the weakest team after the draw.”

“We still have one final step to complete the group stage in the best way possible by avoiding defeat and aiming for victory in the upcoming match against Simba SC on their home ground. Despite the difficulty of the task, as our opponent is also fighting for qualification, we are determined.”

“Winning this match would give us the advantage of hosting the next round at home and avoiding a clash with the top-ranked teams from other groups. This makes thorough preparation crucial to achieving the objectives we have set.”

Lassaad Dridi – Head Coach of CS Sfaxien:

“I congratulate CS Constantine on this performance. They were physically stronger, particularly in capitalizing on errors and converting chances. We struggled to keep up with their pace, especially with our depleted defense, as we had no reserve defenders and had to deploy wingers as fullbacks.”

“The first half was balanced despite being behind, but in the second half, we committed too many individual errors that led to our painful defeat. We had hoped for a positive result.”

“We have a lot of work ahead, starting with urgent reinforcements, especially in physical conditioning, and addressing the weaknesses in our players’ performance.”
