Algerian Interior Minister Ibrahim Mourad Visits Spain’s General Directorate of Traffic

Algiers – Algeria’s Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Urban Planning, Ibrahim Mourad, paid an official visit on Monday to the General Directorate of Traffic under the Spanish Ministry of Interior. The visit aimed to review the organizational structure and management strategies of this institution as part of his official trip to Spain, following an invitation from his Spanish counterpart, according to a statement from the Algerian ministry.

The statement further noted that Mourad was accompanied by Ali Badaoui, Director General of National Security, and Boualem Boughelaf, Director General of Civil Protection. The Algerian delegation received detailed briefings on modern mechanisms used in traffic management, legal and technical solutions, and advanced technologies employed to enhance road safety and combat traffic-related insecurity.

Discussions also focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanging expertise between the two ministries. Both sides agreed to hold specialized meetings between experts from Algeria and Spain to explore practical mechanisms for advancing joint efforts in modernizing and improving traffic management strategies.

Mourad’s visit reflects Algeria’s commitment to adopting innovative solutions for traffic safety and road modernization while fostering international partnerships in security and urban planning.
