ALGIERS – The Algerian government has strongly denounced a recent wave of Israeli strikes on Syrian territory, calling them a “blatant violation” of Syria’s sovereignty. In a statement issued late Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the UN Security Council to intervene and halt what it described as “repeated attacks” by the Zionist entity. The ministry warned that the escalation – involving strikes on government buildings and civilian infrastructure in Damascus and Al‑Suwayda – threatens Syria’s territorial integrity and regional stability. Algeria reaffirmed its solidarity with Syria and reiterated that the country has a legitimate right to defend its sovereignty under international law The statement emphasised that continued impunity would embolden further aggression and destabilise the wider Middle East
