Athletics – World Championships (Triple Jump): Algeria’s Yasser Triki Finishes Fourth in Final

Tokyo – dzwatch
Algerian athlete Mohamed Yasser Triki delivered a strong performance in the men’s triple jump final at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, finishing in fourth place on Friday.

Triki opened his series with a jump of 17.25 meters, securing a competitive position early on. However, he struggled in the following rounds, fouling three of his six attempts and ultimately settling for fourth place — a result considered honorable in one of the championship’s most fiercely contested events.

The gold medal went to Portugal’s Pedro Pichardo, who sealed his victory with a 17.91-meter jump in his final attempt.
Italy’s Andrea Dallavalle claimed silver with a clutch 17.64-meter jump in the sixth round, moving up from fourth place.
Cuba’s Lázaro Martínez completed the podium, taking bronze with 17.49 meters achieved in his second attempt.

Algeria’s participation in the Tokyo World Championships will conclude on Saturday, with Olympic bronze medalist Djamel Sedjati competing in the highly anticipated men’s 800-meter final at 14:22 (Algeria time). Sedjati carries Algeria’s hopes for a world medal in the middle-distance event.
